As per provision of the notification, Chhattisgarh Environmental
Conservation Board is placing the Summary Environment Impact Assessment reports in English and
Hindi language of the following projects/ activities proposed by M/s Kanhar Barrage Project in Garhwa District, Jharkhand. Villages-Near of Khuri, Block-Chiniya, District-Gadhwa(Interstate) Jharkhand & Balrampur-Ramanujganj (C.G.).
Proposed Project- Kanhar Barrage Project envisages construction of a barrage across KanharRiver near Khuri village to impound the water up to the Full Reservoir Level(FRL) of EL. 368.60 m. This will enable diversion of river water to the Main
trunk canal (MTC) through right bank. A 17.10 km long Main Trunk Canal(MTC) originates from the right bank, upstream of the barrage and shallterminate in reservoir upstream of Lawadoni village after negotiating of a fallof 60.0m. An Earthen Barrage (29.58 m height) with a ungated chute spillway,
located on right bank, has been proposed at Lawadoni.

The copies of Summary EIA Report (English & Hindi) and Draft EIA Report are available for inspection at the offices of following authorities on a written request from the concerned person during normal office hours till the date of public hearing
The written responses from other concerned
persons having a plausible stake in the environmental aspects
of the above mentioned projects/activities are invited by
Chhattisgarh Environment Conservation Board at the Regional
Office, Chhattisgarh Environment Conservation Board at the
Regional Office, Chhattisgarh Environment Conservation Board.
